If I had a nickle for each time I was asked this! Well I am a Nikon guy, but there are many many good camera systems & manufacturers. You need to see what fits your needs, and what camera is really a comfortable fit in your hand matters as well. Remember - It's the photographer - not the camera in his/her hand that makes the difference when it comes to photography.

A funny story, a city has underground water leaks, after 2 days they can't stop it! They call a specialist, and in 5 minutes he takes a hammer bangs a pipe & WOW- no more leak. The next week the city gets a bill for$ 3,000. They complain - that's a lot of $$ for a 5 minute job - the specialist said well, $ 100. is for the time, the other $ 2,900. is for "knowing" where to hit the pipe to fix the leak!!
